Welcome to 4th Grade!
We will have a magnificent year full of learning, cooperation, independence, and most of all, fun! Should you be in need of any particular supplies, please don't hesitate to ask. There is one supply that ONLY YOU can bring...a positive attitude, with that you can move mountains! As long as you try your best and be willing to help out someone in need we will get along famously. The door to room 207 is always open (unless I'm at a WPHS volleyball game after school :)). I'm best reached during teaching time by email: jjuarros@wpsdk12.org. You've landed at the most amazing school in the entire world...I'm not kidding! You'll reach your goals this year because you'll work hard, and I will be there to help you.
My Philosophy
Within the last twenty years of teaching, I've adopted the following philosophy when it comes to working with children of all ages (the author is unknown):
The Rose
When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we notice that it is small, but we do not criticize it as "rootless and stemless." We treat it as a seed giving it water and nourishment required of a seed. When it first shoots up out of the earth, we don't condemn it as immature and underdeveloped; nor do we criticize the buds for not being open when they appear. We stand in wonder at the process taking place and give the plant the care it needs at each stage of development. The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential. It seems to be constantly in the process of change; yet at each stage, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is.
Let's make this the best year EVER!!!

HELP WANTED!!!
Mrs. Horner has graciously offered her time this year to our 4th graders. She will be heading up our differentiated spelling program. If you are able to volunteer your time, please email her at aahhome@juno.com. We plan on having this up and running by the end of the month. Thank you in advance for your time.
